Have any pointers for me to get excepted into the physical therapy program at either of these schools? UNC Chapel Hill and University of FLorida…. what were your GRE scores? pointers? How do you like the program?

Any experience with this school will be helpful… thanks!

today biomedical science is much developed in phyical therapy, by using X-ray & for admission in GRE you should have more than 90 percentile marks in GRE.

I am in my senior year of college, with my major being Communication Disorders (aka speech therapy) However, to be a speech therapist you need to have a masters degree. With this major you can also be an audiologist but with that you need a ph.d. I do not want to go to grad. school but I still want to work with children and/or adults with speech problems. Does anyone know of any jobs that just require a bachelors degree that would work with children and adults that may have speech/mental/physical/behavior disablities?

there is a lot of different organizations out there dedicated to this topic, more than you would think. i know someone who works for Hopelink, a organization dedicated to helping children with abusive parents and thus learning disabilities…this person has only a bachelors in family medicine and she got the job easilly. Just do some research in your area, you are bound to find many opportunities.

I'm looking into transferring to CSULB from the University of Minnesota. It's hard to find actual information about the school unless it's from the school itself, or a really bitter student on a review site. Has anyone gone there? What's the reputation like? Is it looked at like a "joke" school (really easy, degree is worthless, etc…) Is the graduate program well designed? Is Long Beach a nice city to live in? Is surfing big there? Does the LA pollution affect the environment in Long Beach? Are classes hard to get when you need them? Any other pieces of information I didn't think of…

I also looked into San Diego State a bit too. Would I be better off going to SDSU than CSULB?

I'm a kinesiology major and plan on attending grad school to receive my doctorate in Physical Therapy. I was in California recently (SF and SD) and fell in love with southern California. The laid-back chill-out attitude is a welcoming change from Minneapolis.

Thanks for the info!

First of all I think LBSU(CSULB) is getting more academic. When I enrolled I was accepted with a 2.8 GPA and 1050 SAT. The president at the time had a presidental scholars program that brought a lot of A students to the campus. My brother applied 5 years later with the same GPA and SAT scores as me and he was denied. The business program is pretty good, music program just got a hefty donation and they're good, engineering is good. I ran track for LBSU and was around Kinesiology students a lot, the sense I got was that its a decent program, facilites are avarage. There are plans to build a whole new facility but who knows when that will get done. The students got out what the put in, some just went through the motions, others had motivation and they did very well. L.A. is a good place to be if you want to work on athletes as a profession, lots of them there. LBSU baseball is really good and you'll be around that in your program. I'm from Norcal and I found Long Beach/seal beach/lakewood to be excellent. I lived in so so areas and really nice areas down there, but you can't beat the sun, palm trees and the beach, I plan on moving back soon. Surfing is big, I had a roomate who got up a 4 every morning to surf before class. The smog isn't as bad in LB, but there are some pretty hazy days. I'm biased, but I say Long Beach all the way.
